Avalanche Rescue – Hosted by Alaska Avalanche School
Kick off the winter season with the Avalanche Rescue course, hosted by the Alaska Avalanche School on January 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Hatcher Pass. This one-day, field-based course is designed for anyone recreating in avalanche-prone terrain and is a required refresher for ongoing avalanche education. You’ll gain hands-on experience with beacon searches, probing, strategic shoveling, and real-time rescue scenarios.
